The Lantern Festival or sometimes
referred to as the Mid-Autumn Festival is a Chinese festival
celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th lunar
month of the Chinese calendar (usually around mid or late September
in the Gregorian calendar). The festival is a popular Asian
celebration of abundance and togetherness, dating back over 3,000
years to China’s Zhou Dynasty.
Traditionally, on this day, Chinese
family members and friends will gather to admire the bright
mid-autumn harvest moon, eat moon cake and pomeloes together. On
this day too, children will go out at night carrying brightly lit
lantern and playing the traditional ‘Guessing Lantern Riddles’
(which became part of the festival since Tang Dynasty). Today, the
lantern and the moon cakes have attracted many children and adults
attention. In certain area, lantern procession and competition are
held.
Come down and join us together with
your family for fun & exciting activities and entertainment at the
Lantern Festival. In order for us to prepare sufficient food &
beverages on the day itself, we kindly urge you to collect the
entrance tickets by simply producing your resident cards at our
Management Office between 12.09.2007 till 18.09.2007,

resident cards, please remember to bring along resident cards of the

relatives and friends will have to pay RM20.00 per ticket/per
